List an item
Once you're a member just go to "My
Account" then "Add
Listing". Complete the relevant category
and details then confirm the listing.
Send an Item / earn credits
To send an item, you must be a member
of Swapclub.
- You will receive an email with the
item to send and contact details.
- Send the item as soon as possible.
- Confirm
shipping at the swapclub site. Keep postage receipt or
courier details until swap is complete.
- Leave feedback once the swap is complete.
As part of membership requirements,
you are required to pay postage costs when you send an
item. When you receive an item however, this will arrive
postage paid so in effect it hasn't cost you anything.
This means no money changes between members, which speeds
things up and reduces risk when you follow our recommendations.
Request an item
To request an item, you must be a member
of Swapclub.
- Find an item you want.
- Check you have enough credit points.
- Click the swap it button found beside
the item.
- Confirm when the item has arrived at your doorstep.
As part of membership requirements,
you are required to confirm delivery as soon as possible
and leave feedback.
Earn Credit Points
If you don't have enough credits for
an item you can get extra points by several methods. The
first and best method is to send out an item and earn Swapclub
Credits. The second way is to buy credits
off Swapclub, and the third
way is to look in the free points area and see what specials
may be on offer from time to time.
Eliminate Disputes
Always view a member's feedback and
be proactive about your responsibilities. If you are unhappy
with the outcome of a swap you should first contact the
other member and try and sort it out. We do not reimburse
points unless we are satisfied our method has been followed
and we can confirm the details. Should you have concerns
about a swap, we will take appropriate action at our discretion.
Keep track of it all
This is easy. In your "My Account " page
you will find details of all the items you have requested
and items you must send out. When you have completed a
task just press the appropriate confirmation button. The
details will automatically up date for both yourself and
the other member. You can also access your account and
view your points balance, pending debits and credits,
and other information that will make your membership an
easy and enjoyable experience.
CREATE A GREAT LISTING
Although you are not selling your items on Swapclub, it
still pays to create an attractive listing so other members
more readily swap with you. This allows you to get more
credit points for swapping.
Here are a few simple tips:
- Be sure to fill out all the information fields
when you add a new listing.
- When determining the
Swapclub credit value, Swapclub automatically allocates
the maximum points for that category. You should
reduce the points however to take into account the
condition or attractiveness of an item. It's no good
trying to get maximum points for an author no one has
ever heard of or a B grade movie that flopped.
- For low value items like magazines, you may want
to bunch a few together to make them more attractive.
- Create a “Swapclub” folder
in "My Pictures" so you can easily upload an image
when you add a new listing.
- For a good picture, do a search on the web.
- Write a brief description, synopsis or even a
review.
- If you re-list an item, you can
keep the original description if you wish or add your
comments. Remember to sign your username.
Don’t be offended if another member copies your
review or comments. We encourage members to re-list items
once they have finished with them and it saves retyping
it all! If you copy someone else’s review for your
listing be sure to give him or her credit.
APPLY FOR CREDIT IF AN
ITEM GOES MISSING
In the unlikely event that an item
you have sent out goes missing or is not received at
the other end, you will still get your credit points.
To do this contact us with
the postage receipt or tracking number that clearly identifies
the item was posted. We will accept this by post, fax
or scanned image. We will add a comment to your feedback
so others know you followed the system and it wasn’t
your fault. Remember to keep all postage receipts
until a swap is complete.
